Mansoureh Behkish Sentenced to 7 Years and a Half in Prison.

Mansoureh Behkish was sentenced to seven and a half years imprisonment on charges of propaganda against the regime and collusion against the country due to her civil activities which was approved by the appeals court last month. Members of the families of the executed and families of political murder victims in the Islamic Republic, condemned Mansooreh Behkish’s verdict and demanded her unconditional release, by writing a statement.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the families of the executed and families of political murder victims condemned Mansooreh Behkish’s verdict of seven and a half years imprisonment, and demanded her unconditional release, by writing a statement.

Mansoureh Behkish was sentenced to seven and a half years imprisonment on charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “gathering and collusion against the security of the country” which was confirmed in the appeal court.

This civil activist is a member of the group of “Mothers and Families of Khavaran”, whose relatives were secretly executed in the 1980s without a trial in the competent court, by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ms. Behkish commented on the statement by the families of the executed and the victims of chain killings on her Facebook page: “I am also strongly protesting against this verdict and all unfair sentences and crimes that the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran have done towards us, political and social activists, since they have been ruling the country. Undoubtedly wherever I am, every day firmer than the day before, I will find the way to litigation for freedom and equality and justice, and will take all partners who contribute to the survival of the perpetrators to the trial.”

In the 1980s, Iranian authorities executed a large number of political prisoners. According to unofficial sources, it is generally believed that thousands of prisoners have been executed by the authorities in these years.
