Freedom Flowers Use your power, make a flower

Freedom Flowers

Use your power, make a flower

Since COVID-19 hit Iran has released 70,000 prisoners. Yassaman Aryani is still trapped in an overcrowded cage in Evin Prison. Her crime was defending human rights by handing out flowers without a veil.

In Ireland, we have the freedom to protect ourselves by staying indoors. To connect with each other, we have been showing our social solidarity; Kids are drawing rainbows to shine a light in darkness. We clapped outside our doors for those of us on the frontline. With the power of the internet, we can take global actions too.

Let's tell Iran to let Yasaman go. Create freedom flowers on your windows and doors across Ireland.

Use your power, make a flower.

Show them we're watching.

Claim your freedom and call for her release.

What can you do?

1. Create your Freedom Flower inspired by Yasaman.

2. Plant your creation in your window or in front of your home.

3. Take a picture of it.

4. Share the picture on social media and tag  @AmnestyIreland
#FreedomFlowers.

5. Tag 5 friends to do the Freedom Flowers Challenge too.

We're not free until we're all free. I've made this Freedom Flower to call for Yasaman Aryani' s release.  She is trapped in prison at risk of COVID 19.  @khamenei_ir @AmnestyIreland   #FreedomFlowers.

6. Sign the petition if you haven't already

Every donation, no matter the amount, is so valuable.

Like many others, our fundraising efforts have been negatively affected by Covid-19. New member sign-ups have reduced massively, events are postponed and other fundraising activities have had to stop altogether.

But this pandemic makes our work more vital than ever and we must continue: refugees' lives in camps have become even more intolerable, people without homes, both in Ireland and across the world, are suffering so much more. Some governments are also using the pandemic to crack down on their people, abusing their basic human rights. We must stop them.

If you are able to, please help keep the flame of hope alight by Donating Today.
Thank you for supporting Yasaman!

In solidarity,

Siobhán Murphy, Louise Conway, Grace Dyas, and Deirdre Walsh.
