The head of the press board of the Kurdistan National Union (KNU) said that the visit of Bafel Jalal Talabani to Moscow is important and official.

"The visit of Bafel Jalal Talabani, the leader of the Kurdistan National Union (KNU), to Russia is at a sensitive time and is important and official," said Latif Nerwayi, head of the press board of the Kurdistan National Union (KNU).

"During his visit, a number of political, security and economic issues were discussed with Russian officials," he said.

"This visit is to strengthen political relations with Russia, which the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the PUK have long-standing relations with that country, some of which date back to the time of Mam Jalal," he said.
