In a video message released on 13 December 2025, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, lawyer, and human rights defender Oleksandra Matviichuk condemned the illegal arrest of Iranian human rights defender Narges Mohammadi.

“Yesterday, my sister, Narges Mohammadi, was illegally arrested. I demand that the Iranian regime immediately release her without any conditions,” Matviichuk said.

She added, “Women must support women,” urging all women to join in calling for Mohammadi’s freedom.

This statement comes on the second day of Narges Mohammadi’s arrest, highlighting the urgent need for international attention and support for human rights defenders in Iran.
