The suicide bomber who struck a joint U.S.–Syrian patrol in Palmyra is now identified as a member of Syrian Public Security, and a personal guard linked to Ahmed al-Sharaa (al-Jolani), Syria’s new “president.”

He had reportedly been flagged for extremist ideology but remained on duty.

The man circled in this photo is the alleged attacker.

This was not just an ISIS attack.

It was an insider strike from within a force meant to be a partner.
