Police investigate the connection between multiple attacks against Jews
Anti-Semitic motifs are suspected of lying behind the fires in Lund.
Radhusbranden in Lund is investigated as a gross murder fire with hatred motifs.

Now the police are investigating if the assault has a connection to a similar attack this summer against a person with Jewish affection.

"We look at it in parallel because there are two serious crimes," said Joakim Nyberg, municipal police in Lund.
The night to Tuesday last week, a Jewish leisure politician in Lund got his rowhouse destroyed in a landscaped fire. The person has previously been subjected to harassment and threats with anti-Semitic signs. The police suspect that the fire started by someone throwing something against the house and classifying the incident as a fiery fire.

According to the municipal police, Joakim Nyberg in Lund, they are now looking into whether there is a continuing threat to the person.
The technical investigation on site is complete but I can not comment on anything yet, he says.

Shortly after the incident, the Jewish Central Council and the Jewish Assembly in Malmö issued a press release saying that suspected antisemitism is behind the event.

"Regardless of who or who is behind these deeds, the suspicion is strong that these attacks are aimed at these people because they are Jews. The last deceit has an extra dimension, as it also tries to scare a politician into silence, wrote Aron Verständig, President of the Jewish Council.
One more attack
Earlier this summer, another person with a Jewish background in Lund also suffered a fire attack against his home. Both people have previously been subjected to harassment and anti-Semitic threats, according to the police, who on several occasions had their homes under surveillance.
The police are now investigating if there are connections between the events. So far, there is no suspicion in any of the cases.

"We have not been able to make any connection so far, but we are definitely looking at it in parallel because there are two serious crimes," says Joakim Nyberg, municipal police in Lund.

New form of attack
Aftonbladet has previously reported on the problems with anti-semitism in Malmö. Fredrik Sieradzki, information officer for the Jewish Assembly in Malmö, believes that the last two attacks against Jews show a new form of attack.
We have had members and other Jewish people who encountered various types of physical attacks, threats and damage. But this is a new form, a new approach that we have not seen before. It's scary and unpleasant, he says.

The society must now work with preventive measures, he believes.

- As a catch, vaccinate youngsters against this married one. The anti-Semitism comes from both nynazism and unfortunately also from the militant Islamic world. Judges are unfortunately a goal from both of them and have been appointed an enemy. There is also an intense activity to deny the Holocaust, but at the same time there are hardly any Holocaust witnesses left in life. The question should be addressed to law enforcement agencies and politicians, what can we do about this? "Says Fredrik Sieradzki.
