 Yossi Cohen has warned following the publication of an article in the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth; The scenario of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan could be repeated in the case of Iraq.

The former head of Mossad has emphasized that the fall of Iraq will lead to the domination of the Islamic Republic and its affiliated terrorist forces in the Middle East.

"The hasty and reckless withdrawal of the United States could lead to the complete collapse of Iraq," Cohen said in the article. The tragic result will be an increase in the Islamic Republic's military, sectarian, political, and terrorist presence in Iraq.

The former head of Israel's foreign intelligence service also wrote: "Israel must prepare for the rapid fall of all the northern regions of the Middle East after the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq."

"Our demand must be a stable Middle East, so that the Islamic Republic's ability to stabilize itself in the region is thwarted and it cannot become a nuclear-armed state," Cohen told Israeli officials.
