An Iranian-German politician became mayor of Frankfurt

Narges Eskandari, a political activist and member of the German Green Party, was elected mayor of Frankfurt on Wednesday, September 8, following the defeat of a three-party coalition.

The Iranian-German woman fled to Germany about 35 years ago when she was 20 and began working with the German Green Party after earning a doctorate in psychology.
