China calls for a halt to the war between Iran and the United States.
On Wednesday, July 8, after the reciprocal attacks by the US and Iran, China called on both sides to refrain from escalating the conflict again and to pursue the path of dialogue and diplomacy.
According to the AFP news agency, Mao Ning, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said: "Resuming the war is not in the interests of either side, and a military solution cannot solve fundamental problems."
He called on the US and Iran to exercise restraint, avoid escalating tensions, and resolve differences through dialogue and negotiation.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman's remarks come as the US launched a new wave of airstrikes on targets in Iran on Wednesday morning, and Iran responded by targeting US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait with missiles.
