Kurdish forces launch offensive to liberate Shingal

Kurdish forces launch offensive to liberate Shingal
A great operation has been initiated to liberate the town of Shingal in Nothern Iraq/Southern Kurdistan. Numerous Kurdish Forces, including Peshmerga, PKK, YPG, YBS, YJE and HPS are all participating in the liberation. More than 10.000 soldiers (some sources say 20.000) from Peshmerga are reportedly participating and have isolated the area. Soldiers and special units are forcing their way deeper into the town.

Countless ISIS terrorists have tried to escape but have been annihilated on their way. ISIS' supply routes have been exterminated and coalition airstrikes are backing up the troops, which impedes the terrorists from receiving reinforcements from other areas. Furthermore, the liberation of Shingal is said to be a part of a greater operation to liberate Mosul, which roads are connected to the Shingal region. Peshmerga and 5.000 from the Ezidi unit called HPS are attacking the town from the Northeast and southern part, while PKK and YBS are liberation more and more territory from the western part. PKK has successfully surrounded the western part of Shingal and their units are capturing more territory in the areas around the Rambosi village. YPJ-Shingal, PKK and Pesmerga have also conquered the roads around the village of Solak in the eastern part of Shingal. They are currently advancing towards Tell Afar to block potential attack on the roads between Tell Afar and Shingal. Thereby, they have reportedly complete control of the Shingal region, in which it is only a matter of time before the final liberation of Shingal has been declared successful. Shingal has been conquered since the 3rd of August 2014 by the terrorists from ISIS.
