After five months of power struggles in Iraq, Mustafa Kazemi, the former head of Iraq's intelligence service, received a vote of confidence from Parliament. It is now said that the secret agreement between the US and Iran has paved the way for Kazemi's prime ministry in Iraq.

Iraqi President Barham Saleh gives him Prime Minister Mustafa Kazemi

The election of Mustafa Kazemi as Iraq's prime minister and the Iraqi parliamentary elections have sparked much speculation. It would not have been possible for him to win the vote of confidence in Parliament without the support of Iranian-backed Shiite lawmakers. This political decision is now agreed upon.

The website "Middle East" has published a detailed report on the secret agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic on Prime Minister Mustafa Kazemi. The report is based on information obtained by a media reporter through contacts with Iraqi government officials.
The identity of the persons was not disclosed in the report, and Foreign Ministry officials in Iran and the United States have denied the allegations.

Together with Shiite representatives elected by Kazemi

The report opposes Shiite forces nominating Mustafa Kazemi as Iraq's prime minister. Some Arab news sources have claimed that Mustafa Kazemi, the former head of Iraq's intelligence service, was cooperating with US officials in a drone strike on a car carrying Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi, an engineer.

The Iraqi government and the Iraqi intelligence service have denied any involvement in the drone strike on Qassem Soleimani's car near Baghdad airport.

After the name Mustafa Kazemi was elected as a candidate for the post of prime minister in Iraq, all Shiite forces opposed this issue. Hezbollah-affiliated militias have even spoken of it as a "declaration of war."

Although Hezbollah's books continue to express dissatisfaction with Kazemi's election as prime minister, it is obvious that his election would not have been possible without the support of Shiite legislators in the Iraqi parliament. This has sparked speculation about an agreement behind the scenes; A "secret agreement" has now leaked from the website in the Middle East.

The connection of the "secret agreement" with Iran's blocked money

The Iran-US agreement on the Iraqi government is not a new phenomenon. In 2010, after nine months of conflict and political confrontation, Nouri al-Maliki was able to take over for the second time as Iraq's prime minister, following an agreement between Iran and the United States.

According to the website, following the agreement between Iran and the United States on the Prime Minister's Office in Mustafa Kazemi, the Shiite representatives supported by Iran in the US parliament voted for him.

The US-Iran deal has been part of Iran's blocked money abroad. According to the report, the Islamic Republic of Iran has opened an account for access to some of its money in Europe in exchange for agreeing with Prime Minister Mustafa Kazemi.

The US has reportedly told the Iranian side that if they cooperate with the Iraqi government, it will turn a blind eye to the transfer of some of Iran's blocked assets to Europe.

News of the Iran-US agreement has been denied by both countries' foreign ministries. A Foreign Ministry official said the country respects Iraq's territorial integrity and urged Iran to pursue a similar policy.

An Iranian Foreign Ministry official did not express any information on the matter. However, Iraqi officials told the media that the news was true.

However, Iraqi sources have not yet confirmed that some of Iran's blocked money has been removed. But the same sources cited a new ruling by a Luxembourg court to release $ 1.6 billion in Iranian assets.

This part of Iran's assets was blocked in 2012 in connection with the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Although Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is satisfied with Kazemi's election as Iraq's prime minister and is one of the first to congratulate him on the election, he is not satisfied that Iran and the US have reached an "agreement".
