Condemnation of the shameful presence in the inauguration of the executioner
Hillel Neuer, "The presence of Enrique Mora at the inauguration of the executioner in Tehran is shameful," the UNHCR executive tweeted, referring to the presence of an EU representative at the execution of the chief executioner.
He wrote in his tweet: Make no mistake: Ebrahim Raisi, the new president of Iran, was part of the regime's death commission in 1988, which ordered the mass execution of 8,000 political prisoners. Western officials should not celebrate his inauguration, they should prosecute him for crimes against humanity.
Michel Hugoin, a member of the European Parliament from the Netherlands, also described the executioner as naive and shameful in a statement issued at the EU's inauguration.
