Ahmadinejad explicitly stated that the comments of the regime officials about Afghanistan were against the will of the people.

"The people of Afghanistan do not forget or forgive the support of the Taliban," wrote Javad Soleimani, who lost his wife, Elnaz Nabii, during the downing of a Ukrainian plane by the Revolutionary Guards.
