Hamedan subscribers' telephones cut off due to cable theft / No copper cables for the next 5 years

ISNA/Hamdan The CEO of the Hamedan Regional Telecommunications Company said: The telephone lines of nearly 2,200 subscribers in Hamedan were cut off due to theft, and the telephones of 1,300 subscribers have been reconnected. Kholosi said on Monday, May 19, in a meeting with media representatives in Hamedan province, pointing out that the main cause of disruption in telephone and internet lines is the cut off.

He stated: There are currently 533,000 fixed telephone subscribers in the province, of which 132,000 are on ADSL and VDSL internet.

He added: In the next five years, there will be no copper infrastructure in Hamadan province's telecommunications lines.

Emphasizing the change from copper to fiber all at once, Kholosi stated: We will create wide bandwidth and high quality for subscribers.

The CEO of Hamadan Provincial Telecommunications Company, pointing out that the Hamadan Regional Telecommunications Company's commitment is to cover 19,000 subscribers on fiber optic, stated: We have prepared nearly 4,000 ports in Hamadan, Razan, and Malayer, but unfortunately, they are not well received.

Stating that we have 2,800 commercial subscribers in Hamadan province, he noted: The average income for each fixed telephone line with internet is 15,000 Tomans, while the cost of maintaining each telephone line is 45,000 Tomans.

Referring to the effects of energy imbalance and power outages, the CEO of the Hamedan Regional Telecommunications Company said: Energy imbalance is the definitive reason.

The main cause of problems with internet disruptions is electricity.

Kholosi noted: In rural and roadside centers, if the city's electricity is cut off, the battery will respond for half an hour at best, and if the same site's communication traffic and number of subscribers increase, it will be half an hour less.

Stating that fiber optic technology is attractive and has high employment potential, he added: The speed of fiber optic in businesses is up to one gigabit.

Kholosi continued: Financing the implementation of fiber optic in Hamedan from the sale of copper cables (toot) and the sale of surplus real estate is unusable.

Stating that the theft of copper cables paralyzed telecommunications in Hamedan, the official noted: The main fiber optic substrate is glass, which is of no use to thieves, and by implementing fiber optic, we will be free from the hands of thieves.

He said: "In Farhangian and Madani Township, the phones of nearly 2,200 subscribers were disconnected due to theft, but now the phones of 1,300 subscribers have been reconnected, and the rest are being repaired and handed over."
