Australian Prime Minister's remarks on the expulsion of the Islamic Republic of Iran's ambassador to Australia and the closure of its embassy in Tehran
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that evidence shows that the Islamic Republic of Iran was involved in at least two anti-Semitic attacks on Australian soil. According to him, following this issue, the Australian government has decided to expel the Iranian ambassador from Canberra and simultaneously suspend the activities of the Australian embassy in Tehran.
Albanese also added that his government is drafting legislation under which the Revolutionary Guard Corps will be listed as a terrorist organization. He emphasized: "Such anti-Semitic acts do not only target our Jewish community, but also directly threaten Australia's national security, and my government will stand firm against it."
