Several European airlines stop flying to Iran

Several European airlines stop flying to Iran
Several European airlines will stop their flights to Iran because it is no longer profitable. It reports several state and international media and Iranian regime.

British airways, British Airways, said last week that it will end their flights to Iran's capital in September because "the investment is currently not commercially viable", reports Associated Press along with other international media.

Dutch KLM and French AirFrance have also announced that they will stop flying to Iran.

This announcement comes after the United States left the nuclear agreement and reintroduced sanctions against Iran earlier in August. Further sanctions against Iran are expected to come into force in November. The new penal measures target, among other things, the Iranian regime's oil exports and intend to lower Tehran's annual exports to zero.

The airlines' decision to leave Iran is in line with similar decisions from other European big companies in anticipation of US sanctions against Iran.

"Our policy is based on a clear assessment of the Iranian dictatorship, its funding of terrorism and its continued aggression in the Middle East and the whole world," wrote US President Donald Trump in a statement on the sixth of August as the new punishment struck into force.
