Kerkûkî: The Turkish state is making dirty plans over Kirkuk
“The Kurdish, Arab, Turkmen, Assyrian, Syriac, Chaldean and other peoples should organize in the framework of the democratic nation against the dirty plans of the Turkish state. They should not let any invaders touch their common life.”
Tevgera Azadi Kirkuk Assembly and Foreign Relations Assembly Member Hisên Kerkûkî spoke about the comments Turkey’s Ambassador to Baghdad Fatih Yıldız made.
Hisên Kerkûkî said Kirkuk is a city where diversity reigns and added that the people live a common life in the city. He stated that Turkey is making dirty plans over Kirkuk, and added: “The Kurdish, Arab, Turkmen, Assyrian, Syriac, Chaldean and other peoples should organize in the framework of the democratic nation against the dirty plans of the Turkish state. They should not let any invaders touch their common life.”
Kerkûkî said Yıldız’s comments about Kirkuk don’t serve the city: “They not only not serve Kirkuk, but also interfere with the way of life in the Kirkuk region and Iraq. We are calling on the regional and Iraqi governments: Stand against Turkey’s violations.”
Kerkûkî stated that the Turkish state has increased its presence in Kirkuk after the events of October 16 and added that there should be a common stance and strategy against the Turkish state interventions.
Kerkûkî pointed out Tevgera Azadi’s proposals for a solution and said: “Kirkuk is the city of common life. It is a Kurdish city, but it also belongs to Arabs, Turkmens, Chaldeans and Assyrians, and has an ancient history. Turkey wants to disperse this common life, change every aspect of it and create divisions between peoples. Turkmens, Arabs and other bodies can also create the foundations of a democratic nation and an equal life in Kirkuk, it doesn’t have to be just Kurdish political parties. If they can do this, then no state can touch the common life in Kirkuk, not the Turkish state, nor any others.”
