Iran has attacked the MERCER STREET ship with drones, with the intention of attacking an Israeli target.

But instead, their piracy killed a British citizen and a Romanian citizen. We call on the international community to let the Iranian regime know that it has made a big mistake.

The Prime Minister of Israel Mr. Naftali Bennett said today at the beginning of the government meeting:

In recent days, the world has witnessed another example of violence by Iran, this time on the high seas.

Iran has attacked the MERCER STREET ship with drones, with the intention of attacking an Israeli target.

Instead, their piracy killed a British and a Romanian citizen.

From here, I extend my condolences to the United Kingdom and Romania, as well as their families.

I have just heard that Iran, out of fear, wants to abdicate responsibility in this case.

Their system denies this. But I declare emphatically: Iran is the country that carried out this attack on the ship.

The coercive nature of the Iranian regime is dangerous not only for Israel, but for all global interests, freedom of shipping and international trade.

There is intelligence evidence for this claim, and we urge the international community to let the Iranian regime know that it has made a big mistake.
