Netanyahu to World: Concern Yourself with Safety, Future of Kurds
ERBIL — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated on Tuesday his country’s "great sympathy" for the aspiration of Kurds, saying that the world should concern itself with the safety and future of Kurds.

"We have very great sympathy for their desires and the world needs to concern itself with their safety and with their future,” Netanyahu said while speaking at a memorial ceremony for the Israeli tourism minister Rehavam Zeevi who was assassinated by Palestinians in Jerusalem in 2001.

Netanyahu said that Zeevi visited Kurdistan Region back in 1960s as part of a secret mission to supervise the setting up of an Israeli army field hospital there, as reported by France 24.

"The visit made a deep impression on him," the Israeli Premier said. "He came face to face with warm expressions of support for Israel which continue to this day.

Netanyahu also valued the Kurds for their national and international maturity. The official said previously in September that Israel supports  "the legitimate efforts of the Kurdish people to attain a state of its own.”
