 A Bangladeshi man and woman have been executed on charges of engaging in sexual relations inside a mosque in the city of Mecca.
According to an official statement from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior, the two Bangladeshi nationals—a man and a woman—were arrested after committing an "immoral act" inside a mosque in Mecca. They were subsequently sentenced to death by a Saudi court on charges of desecrating the mosque.
The death sentences were carried out on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and their decapitated bodies have been repatriated to Bangladesh.
While the official Saudi statement uses the term "immoral act" without explicitly mentioning sexual relations, several reputable media outlets have interpreted this phrase as referring to sexual intercourse.

لە دەقی فەرمی سعودیە دەستەواژەی "کردەوەی بێ ئەخلاقی" بەکارهاتووە، بەڵام بە ئاشکرا باسی پەیوەندی سێکسی نەکراوە. بەڵام هەندێک لە میدیا بەناوبانگەکان ئەم دەستەواژەیەیان بە مانای پەیوەندی سێکسی لێکداوە.
