Turkey's President Erdogan has threatened to release Islamic State members and send them back to Europe in response to EU sanctions over Cyprus.
Meanwhile a top Kurdish general - the leader of the Syrian Democratic Forces - has claimed that Turkey is actively encouraging the return of IS and that a major terror attack should now be expected in the West.
