This petition concerns a new wave of arbitrary, violent, and extrajudicial arrests against Kurdish civil activists and citizens in the #Piranshahr, #Mahabad, #Bukan, and #Kamyaran regions between October 28 and 30, 2025. These arrests were carried out by forces of the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic of #Iran.

Based on field reports and documentation from human rights organizations, the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran arrested at least ten Kurdish civil activists and citizens during the aforementioned days through night raids, destruction of property, and threats to families, and transferred them to security detention centers.

The names of the detainees are as follows:

#Vahab_Mohammadpour – from Piranshahr, former detainee of the “Gentlemen, Life, Freedom” uprising.

#Rauf_Farrokhi – Vahab Mohammadpour’s uncle, from Piranshahr.

#Rahim_Rahmani – resident of Zangi-Avi village in Piranshahr; arrested during a raid with a drone.

#Sirvan_Sholeh – resident of Mahabad; arrested after a raid on the family home.

#Jalal_Sadef – Sirvan Sholeh’s wife; in detention since December 2024.

#Zeylan_Kamangar – from Kamyaran; daughter of Hossein Kamangar, a former political prisoner.

#Khezr_Rasoul  #Marwat_Shomal – civil activist and former political prisoner from Mahabad.

#Fattah_Yousefipour – 52 years old from Bukan; has a history of heart surgery.

#Keyvan_Seyed_Ahmadi – from the village of Bayrom, near Mahabad.

#Avareh_Farrokhi – brother of Rauf Farrokhi; summoned and threatened with arrest by security forces.

Recent arrests in Iranian Kurdistan (Rojhelat) are a clear example of the continued structural behavior of Iranian security forces in systematic violations of human rights. This trend not only violates the Islamic Republic’s international obligations, but also reflects the institutionalization of a culture of impunity for violations of citizens’ rights, especially in marginalized and peripheral areas of the country. The international community and domestic politicians and activists must use existing mechanisms to prevent the continuation of these violations and hold the Iranian government legally accountable. The signatories of this petition call for the immediate and unconditional release of those detained, an independent investigation into the causes of human rights violations, and guarantees that such cases will not be repeated.
