Co-ordinated strike in Tehran and ten other cities in Iran
Many parts of the Tehran Bazar (big market) and markets in several other Iranian cities went on strike on Monday morning in a coordinated protest against the regime's repressive measures as well as the extensive corruption and increased poverty in the country.
Store owners refuse to open their stores while merchants in several cities join the strike despite the regime's attempt to stop them from threats and arrests.
Mashhad, Tabriz, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Zahedan, Orumieh, Karaj, Gorgan, Zanjan, Arak, Baneh, Marivan, Saqqez, Paveh, Borazjan, Kazerun, Kenarak, Chabahar, Hirmand, Miandoab, Sardasht, Piranshahr, Iranshahr and Saravan are some of The cities where the strike takes place since yesterday 10:30 in the morning local time.
The coordinated protest across the country is also aimed at the domestic currency, free fall, rising inflation, and recent drastic price increases.
The countrywide strike of truck drivers continues for the third consecutive week in more than 100 Iranian cities and 31 provinces. Drivers protest against undeclared working conditions, deterioration of living conditions, poor wages and state corruption. They have taken social media to pay attention to the strike and fulfill their demands.
A large number of truck drivers participating in the strike have been arrested and threatened with the execution of the regime's repressive security agencies in recent days, according to data from FFFI from Iran.
