The Iranian regime blames Christians and MRI lawyers.
Human rights lawyers have been convicted of long prison sentences in Iran. It reports the Associated Press (AP) on Tuesday with reference to the regime's media.
Two were sentenced to six years in prison and the third to 13 years in prison.
Ghasem Sholeh-Saadi and Arash Keikhosravi received five years each for "participating in an illegal assembly" and another year for "propaganda propaganda to the governing system", according to AP. They were arrested in August in a protest outside the regime's parliament for free elections in Iran. Both were released to the castle last week and can appeal their judgments, according to the Iranian regime's media.
The third human rights lawyer is identified as Mohammad Najafi, writes AP. He was arrested in the city of Arak in central Iran, according to reports from the regime's media.
Najafi was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sending information to "a hostile state" by participating in interviews with foreign media. He got another two years to insult the highest spiritual leader, Khamenei, and one year for public support for opposition groups.
Najafi was imprisoned in January after expressing support for individuals arrested during regime-critical protests the same month.
There are also reports that the Iranian regime has arrested over 100 Christians in the last week. According to information, arrests are the latest in the line of invasion of religious minorities in Iran. The arrested had converted from Islam to Christianity and accused of the "spread of Christianity" regime.
These arrests come as well as the popular protests against the regime growing across the country. The Iranian regime also executed 12 prisoners in Kerman prison last week for alleged drug offenses.
