Foreign Secretary Margot Wallström has secretly visited Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Nothing about the visit is on the UD's website - but the Iranian news agency IRNA publishes a picture from the meeting.
- It is noteworthy that you did not tell about this visit in advance, says KD parliamentarian Lars Adaktusson.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, met Margot Wallström (S) on her office at the Heritage of the Heritage, on Wednesday, Expressen.
The meeting took place just a few weeks after President Hassan Rouhani's statement that Israel is "a cancer tumor".
- I assume that the Swedish Foreign Minister has raised the violations of human rights and protested against the President's statement. And I assume that you tell what has been raised at this meeting, says the Christian Democrat Member of Parliament Lars Adaktusson, second vice-chairman of the party and former MEPs.
- It is noteworthy that you have not been told that this visit should take place, or what issues should be discussed.
Convicted Swedish in Iran
While Abbas Araghchi visits Stockholm, a Swedish citizen, KI researcher Ahmadreza Djalali, is imprisoned in Iran - sentenced to death.
He currently lives in very difficult circumstances, according to Lars Adaktusson.

Are you really supposed to receive an assistant foreign minister when you have a Swedish citizen who is sentenced to death. One can question the appropriateness of this.
Foreign Minister Margot Wallström's press secretary Erik Wirkensjö writes to Expressen in a text message that the UD "does not normally communicate the cabinet secretary's travel and incoming visits". He continues:
”On December 19, cabinet secretary Annika Söder received Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Stockholm. The visit was part of the regular and recurring political consultations between Sweden and Iran, which take place at the cabinet secretariat level. Last consultations took place in May 2018 in Tehran. The Iranian Deputy Minister also conducted a brief courtesy visit to the Foreign Minister. "
Ministry of Foreign Affairs: "Bilateral issues and consular matters"
According to Wirkensjö, several questions were raised during the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Among the topics raised in the consultations with the cabinet secretary are bilateral issues including consular cases, regional issues including Yemen and Syria, human rights and the nuclear agreement JCPOA. The visit also included a round table with SIPRI and meetings with the management of the Riksdag's Foreign Affairs Committee, Hans Wallmark and Kenneth G Forslund. ”
Erik Wirkensjö also writes that Abbas Araghchi met with the former Foreign Minister Carl Bildt (M) during his Stockholm visit.
