The Iran Cloud Project is rapidly launching a data center in various parts of the country to key the North Korean-style Internet nationalization plan.

According to Human Rights Report, Abraravan Company, affiliated with Fanap Holding, a subdivision of Khomeini's Executive Headquarters, which is under the direct supervision of Ali Khamenei and run by Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi, is rapidly implementing a project called Iran Cloud.

Late last year, the Ministry of Communications of the Islamic Republic announced the conclusion of a 2,400 billion toman contract with the participation of Abraravan and another company.

The Iran Cloud Project, in the form of the development of a "national information network", will enable the authorities of the Islamic Republic to cut off users' access to the global Internet and provide them with only internal networks.

The history of the Internet being cut off during the November 1998 nationwide protests and the repression and killing of people in news silence has reinforced concerns that the development of a "national information network and its infrastructure" will lead to users being denied access to the international Internet.

Looking at some provisions of the Iran Cloud Project contract, it can be seen that the purpose of this project is to create an internal Internet network and develop the intelligence system of the Islamic Republic.

Among these provisions, we can mention the possibility of legal hearing of all equipment and services in case of need and management of "disconnection" or connection or creating restrictions and implementing short-term and long-term policies in this project.

Another worrying aspect of this project is the hierarchical access. In this type of access, Internet users are classified and each will have access to a part of the Internet at the discretion of the "competent authorities".

The US Intelligence Committee had previously stated in a report that super-hackers had carried out large-scale cyber-activities at the behest of Ali Khamenei to interfere in the results of the 2020 US elections.

Following the publication of the report of the US Intelligence Committee, Abaravaran Company and Iran Cloud Project were attacked by American hackers in such a way that all data on its servers were deleted and Abravaran customers could not access their information.
