The report states that during two face-to-face meetings with her family on April 22 and 23, 1405, in the presence of prison officials, “signs of deterioration in her general condition were evident and her physical condition was described as critical.”

They informed her that she had become extremely weak and had lost significant weight. She was previously exiled to this prison in 2012 and 2019, following her protests in Evin Prison.🔸The brother of imprisoned human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi warned about Narges Mohammadi’s “repeated heart attacks” in prison.

Human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi is spending her 124th day in prison in Zanjan, facing a serious threat to her health. During two face-to-face visits with her family on April 22 and 23, 2021, in the presence of prison officials, signs of deterioration in her general condition were evident, and her physical condition was described as “critical.”
Hamidreza Mohammadi, Narges Mohammadi’s brother, said: “The family was able to meet Narges in person on Saturday, April 23. They informed her that she had become extremely weak and had lost significant weight. Narges is being held in a room with prisoners accused of murder, and has been threatened with death several times by these prisoners.”
Narges Mohammadi, who had been suffering from severe chest pain for a long time, suffered a heart attack on April 23, 2021, and lost consciousness in the women’s ward of Zanjan Prison. A situation that lasted for more than an hour and 15 minutes and raised serious concerns about her health.
Hamidreza Mohammadi continued: "After the heart attack, she was referred to a cardiologist in Zanjan for examination on April 10. This doctor considered the drugs prescribed by the prison's general physician to be the cause of the heart attack and refused to prescribe new drugs or perform any treatment without the opinion of Narges's treating and trusted physician at Pars Hospital in Tehran. He also emphasized that Narges should be under the supervision of her doctor and warned of the risk of a repeat heart attack."
According to him, despite the family's follow-up, the Zanjan Intelligence Department has refused to accept responsibility. The Tehran Intelligence Department has also not responded to these follow-ups so far, and a visit to the Mashhad Intelligence Department has yielded no results other than a threat to arrest her brother. Mohammadi adds: “Despite meeting with the Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Khanjani, and a delegation of forensic doctors, Narges is still being held in one of the most insecure women's prisons in Iran, without access to the treatment she needs.”
