Avi Ashkenazi, a writer for the Ma’ariv newspaper, has claimed that Israel believes that the US has backed down from fully implementing its initial plan against Iran. 

 

According to him, the plan included extensive military and security measures to increase pressure on Iran’s military and economic structures, especially the energy sector, and even relied on the use of local forces and Kurdish groups in some areas of Iran.
The report claims that internal disagreements within the US government, as well as Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s opposition, especially regarding scenarios related to the Kurds, have limited the implementation of the plan. As a result, Washington has only implemented part of the plan and has refrained from entering into its broader stages.
According to Ma’ariv, Israeli security circles see this as a failure to achieve their intended goals and are concerned that if the current trend continues and new agreements are possible between the US and Iran, Iran’s regional position will be strengthened.
