Thousands of kilometers away from Kurdistan, a university in Beijing is preparing to teach Kurdish in both Sorani and Kurmanji. Yet in Iran, millions of Kurds still lack access to formal and comprehensive education in their mother tongue—a deprivation that has continued both before and after the 1979 revolution.
Language is more than a means of communication; it is part of a people’s identity, memory, and culture.
The right to learn in one’s mother tongue is not a privilege granted by governments; it is a right that should never be taken away.

مافی خوێندن بە زمانی دایکی تەنیا داواکارییەکی پەروەردەیی نییە؛ بابەتی یەکسانی و کەرامەتی مرۆڤ و دادپەروەری کۆمەڵایەتییە.
بە دووری هەزاران کیلۆمەتر لە کوردستانەوە، زانکۆیەک لە پەکین بڕیارە بە دوو شێوەزاری سۆرانی و کرمانجی وانە بە زمانی کوردی بخوێنێتەوە؛ بەڵام لە ئێراندا هێشتا بە ملیۆنان کورد لە خوێندنی فەرمی و هەمەلایەنە بە زمانی دایکی بێبەشن؛ بێبەشبوونێک کە پێش شۆڕش و دوای شۆڕش بەردەوام بووە.
زمان تەنیا ئامرازێک نییە بۆ پەیوەندیکردن؛ بەشێکە لە ناسنامە و یادەوەری و کولتوری نەتەوەیەک.
مافی فێربوون بە زمانی دایکی، مافێک نییە کە حکومەتەکان بە خەڵک ببەخشن؛ مافێکە کە نابێت لێیان بسەنرێتەوە.

 Mafê perwerdehiya bi zimanê dayikê ne tenê daxwazek perwerdehî ye; ew meseleyek wekhevî, rûmeta mirovan û edaleta civakî ye.
Bi hezaran kîlometre dûrî Kurdistanê, zanîngehek li Pekînê dê bi du zaravayên Soranî û Kurmancî zimanê Kurdî bide; lê li Îranê, bi mîlyonan Kurd hîn jî ji perwerdehiya fermî û berfireh a bi zimanê dayikê bêpar in; bêpariyek ku berî û piştî şoreşê berdewam kiriye.
Ziman ne tenê amûrek ragihandinê ye; ew beşek ji nasname, bîr û çanda neteweyekê ye.
Mafê perwerdehiya bi zimanê dayikê ne mafek e ku hikûmet didin mirovan; ew mafek e ku divê ji wan neyê stendin.

حق آموزش به زبان مادری، فقط یک مطالبه آموزشی نیست؛ مسئله‌ای است درباره برابری، کرامت انسانی و عدالت اجتماعی.
هزاران کیلومتر دورتر از کوردستان، دانشگاهی در پکن قرار است زبان کوردی را در دو گویش سورانی و کرمانجی آموزش دهد؛ اما در ایران، میلیون‌ها کورد همچنان از آموزش رسمی و فراگیر به زبان مادری خود محروم‌اند؛ محرومیتی که پیش و پس از انقلاب ادامه داشته است.
زبان فقط وسیله سخن گفتن نیست؛ بخشی از هویت، حافظه و فرهنگ یک ملت است.
حق آموختن به زبان مادری، حقی نیست که دولت‌ها به مردم ببخشند؛ حقی است که نباید از آنان گرفته شود
