A senior security official in #Iraqi_Kurdistan told Swedish Radio EKOT that there is no evidence to suggest that internationally wanted gang leader Rawa Majid is in the region, contrary to recent media reports.

Aso Ali, head of investigations at the region's security agency, confirmed to radio correspondent Besir Kavak that Kurdish authorities are aware of Rawa's identity and the crimes attributed to him.

He added, "If we can find him, he will be arrested without hesitation and handed over to the appropriate judicial authorities."

Rawa, believed to be the leader of the Foxtrot criminal network, is thought to have resided in Turkey for an extended period before fleeing. Swedish authorities estimate he may have subsequently traveled to either Iran or Iraqi Kurdistan, but the region has denied having any evidence of his presence within its borders.
