Coronavirus Takes 224,900 Lives in Iran in 497 Cities.

  • Saeed Namaki, regime’s Health Minister: Khuzestan Province has the highest number of infections. Out of 70 intubation COVID-19 patients in Khuzestan, 30 died in one day. If we have 3-4 other provinces like Khuzestan and things get out of control, it will be enough (to create a disaster). (ILNA news agency, March 3, 2021)
  • Managing Director of Khuzestan Red Crescent: The situation in the Province is critical. We must be prepared for any situation. (Mehr news agency, March 3, 2021)
  • Alireza Raisi, the spokesperson for the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT): The behavior of the British COVID-19 is quite unprecedented. Predicting the situation in the next month is not an easy task. In the past two days, more than 30% of the deaths were related to Khuzestan. (ISNA, March 3, 2021)
  • South Khorasan University of Medical Sciences: Coronavirus patients admitted to ICU have increased by 33% compared to the previous day. (Mehr, March 3, 2021)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, that Coronavirus death toll in 497 cities across Iran had surpassed 224,900. The number of victims in Tehran is 53,156, Khorasan Razavi 14,850, Isfahan 14,505, Khuzestan 11,935, Mazandaran 9,522, Lorestan 9,368, East Azerbaijan 8,593, West Azerbaijan 8,413, Qom 8,405, Golestan 5,850, Ilam 2,306, Hamedan 5,258, Yazd 4,112, Qazvin 2,529, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 1,694.

The state-run Arman daily, wrote today, “The work of the officials during this year has been nothing but making contradictory claims. First, there was a dispute over the death toll between the city council and the Health Ministry. We then had these disputes over where to get the vaccines. The government ordered the Pfizer vaccines, and then it had to cancel it …. Once the Health Minister says that he is doing nothing but managing mortuaries, the next week he claims that the world is amazed at the management and control of the COVID-19 in our country. In February, an 80% decrease in deaths and infections is reported, but two weeks after and as we approach Nowruz (the Iranian new year) it increases! The authorities sometimes blame each other for inadequacies. One says that the culprits are those who left the Iraqi borders open for the British virus to enter the country. Others say that you are to blame for not being able to quarantine Ahvaz. However, in the end, everything is blamed on the people because it is alleged that they did not follow the protocols, causing the fourth outbreak.”
