Danger of imminent execution of Ahmad Reza Jalali

ISNA news agency, citing informed sources, has announced the imminent execution of Ahmad Reza Jalali, an Iranian-Swedish physician and researcher imprisoned in Evin Prison, until the end of May this year at the latest.

Iran intends to execute an Iranian-Swedish hostage in response to Hamid Nouri's trial

▪️ Coinciding with the final hearing of Hamid Nouri's trial in Stockholm and the announcement of his sentencing date, an Iranian state news agency announced that Ahmad Reza Jalali, an Iranian-Swedish physician and researcher in Tehran's Evin prison, would be executed by the end of May at the latest.

According to this report, Mr. Jalali's death sentence was placed on the agenda after being approved by the Supreme Court.

Mr. Jalali had traveled to Iran at the official invitation of the University of Tehran and had been arrested by agents of the Ministry of Terrorism on May 25, 2016.

He was later sentenced to death by the Tehran Revolutionary Court on trumped-up charges of "corruption on earth through espionage for Israel."

With this action, the Islamic Republic seeks revenge for holding the trial of Hamid Nouri.
