Amnesty International: Iranian authorities play Saada Khedirzadeh's life.

In a brutal act, the Iranian authorities have taken the life and health of a pregnant prisoner named Saada Khedirzadeh. The Kurdish prisoner, who was arbitrarily detained in the women's ward of Urmia Prison in West Azerbaijan Province, is in her eighth month of pregnancy and suffers from heart and kidney diseases. However, authorities denied him access to specialized medical care that required him to be sent to an out-of-prison medical center.


Saada Khedirzadeh has been on strike since May 2022, in protest of his seven months in detention, without being charged or provided with any information by the authorities, as well as being denied specialist medical care, which has left him in critical condition. Food and medicine. In early January 2022, prison doctors advised him that he needed specialized medical care outside the prison, but prosecutors, in collaboration with Ministry of Intelligence agents, barred him from receiving such medical care.

Saada Khedirzadeh was arrested on October 13, 21 by Ministry of Intelligence agents in Piranshahr, West Azerbaijan Province. In an audio message leaked from inside the prison, he said that following his arrest, he was held for 12 days in the detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence in Piranshahr and was subjected to severe interrogations. She was transferred to the women's ward of Urmia Prison after about three weeks and has been detained there ever since. According to an informed source, Saada Khedirzadeh has never been allowed access to a lawyer since his arrest. His detention is contrary to the standards of a fair trial and is considered arbitrary under international law because he has been detained for a long time without knowing the reasons for his detention and has been denied access to a lawyer.
