Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke yesterday with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Prime Minister made a humanitarian request to the President to consider various ways to evacuate the Mazobestel district in Mariupol.
The request was received after Mr. Bennett's talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky yesterday.
Mr Putin promised to make it possible to evacuate citizens, especially the injured, by creating a humanitarian corridor between the United Nations and the Red Cross.
The two also discussed remarks made by Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov. The prime minister accepted President Putin's apology for Lavrov's remarks and praised the president for justifying his views on the Jewish people and the Holocaust.
Mr. Bennett also thanked Mr. Putin for congratulating him on the 74th anniversary of Israel's independence.
