About 600 Israelis and Russian-speaking compatriots - immigrants from the CIS countries - proceeded in the convoy.

During the race, the Banner of Victory will travel 500 km across the entire country: from northern Metula to southern Eilat.

On May 6, 77 years ago, the Prague offensive operation of the Red Army began - the last major battle that separated the Soviet people from Victory in the Great Patriotic War.


The forces of the 1st, 2nd and 4th Ukrainian fronts were involved in the Prague offensive operation (commanders Marshal Ivan Konev, Marshal Rodion Malinovsky and Army General Andrei Eremenko)


During the successful conduct of the Prague Offensive, which ended on May 11, almost the entire Army Group Center was surrounded and captured, and the liberation of Czechoslovakia was completed.

Marshal Konev recalled: “It was clear that Prague was liberated, but there was not a single intelligible report from any of the army commanders. As it turned out later, the reason for this was the rejoicing of the citizens of Prague. There were continuous demonstrations in the streets.
