Some Detained Kurdish Citizens Released on Bail / No Information about the Fate of Three Environmental Activists.
Following the arrest of dozens of citizen and activists in Kamyaran, Ravansar, Sababdaj, Mariwan, Shno, Bukan and Oroumiyeh by security forces over the past two months, only 9 of the detainees were finally released on bail in the past few days. However, there is still no information about the fate of the other detainees.
According to Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), on Saturday, Sept 16, 2018, 9 people arrested in early August by Islamic Republic of Guard Corps (IRGC) were released. These Kurdish citizens were released on bail after the interrogations were completed last week at the IRGC Intelligence Detention Centre in Orumiyeh.
The 9 citizens are as follows:
Farhad Abdollahpour, on a bail of 200 million Tomans
Massoud Vafaei, on the bail of 350 million Tomans
Ayoub Bahram Nejad, on a bail of 150 million Tomans
Kamel Ahmadi, on bail of 200 million Tomans
Kourosh Azizi, on a bail of 200 million Tomans
Abu Bakr Minapak, on a bail of 200 million Tomans
Mohammad Amin Ghazi, on the bail of 200 million Tomans
Yousuf Ahmadi, on the bail of 200 million Tomans
Moussa Mahmudi, on the bail of 500 million Tomans
Although 9 of the detainees were released, there is still no information about the fate of the other environmental activists including Moslem Sobhani (Environmental Activist from Sanandaj arrested on June 19, 2018), Arman Ghafouri (environmental activist and member of the Green Chiyay Association arrested on July 24, 2018) And Sahar Kazemi (Environmental activist from Sanandaj arrested on Aug 9, 2018). According to recent reports, these people were transferred to a security detention facility in Sanandaj for further investigations after being arrested in Sanandaj and Marivan. Earlier, there was news of the death of Ghafouri’s cause under torture in social networks, but the accuracy of this news has not been confirmed yet.
