#Israeli-Russian researcher likely to be secretly transferred to Iran

Israeli website Ynet reported, citing an Iraqi official who did not wish to be named, that #Elizabeth #Truskov, an Israeli-Russian citizen kidnapped in #Baghdad in 2023, may have been secretly transferred to #Iran.

The Iraqi official said that either the researcher was transferred to Iran or Iranian security agents were sent to Iraq for interrogation.

Truskov, who Israeli officials say was kidnapped by the Iraqi militia Kataib Hezbollah, which is backed by the Islamic Republic, is now the focus of US diplomatic pressure. #Washington has demanded the citizen’s immediate release.

The report comes as speculation about his fate continues.

The US is likely to take immediate and lethal action against the kidnappers in coordination with Israel  in #iraq
