The DTK-DBP-HDP delegation is paying the solidarity visit at a time witnessing mobilisation for the Kobanê Canton facing intensified attacks by inhuman gangs now calling themselves the Islamic State.
After gathering in the border district of Suruç, of Urfa province, in the morning, the delegation crossed into Kobanê through the Serxet (Mürşitpınar) gate.
DTK co-chair Selma Irmak, DBP co-chair Kamuran Yüksek, HDP deputies İbrahim Ayhan, İbrahim Binici, Ayla Akat Ata, Sabahat Tuncel, Faysal Sarıyıldız and Mardin co-mayor Ahmet Türk are also taking place in the delegation that will have meetings and talks with the people and administrators of the canton.
Speaking before leaving for Kobanê, Ahmet Türk stressed that the Kurdish people were the only force fighting ISIS which -he underlined- would harm not only Kurds but also all the peoples in the Middle East, Turks being in the first place.
