Pentagon seeks permission to act against terrorist groups in Iraq

Informed sources reported the US Department of Defense's efforts to obtain permission from the President to take military action against terrorists affiliated with the Islamic Republic in Iraq.

"The government is working hard to look at a wide range of possible responses to the militant invasion of US forces in Iraq," the Daily Kaler reported, citing informed sources at the Pentagon.

The source added: "US forces have been ready for any operation in the areas since Qassem Soleimani was targeted, but have not taken any action due to the need to obtain permission from the president."

Another informed source said that the details of the action based on the options will be discussed with the White House through the National Security Council.

The Daily Color emphasized; It is unclear whether US President Joe Biden will approve or reject the plan as he enters into a new relationship to revive the deal with the Islamic Republic.

The efforts come amid rising tensions between the popular uprising and the Iraqi central government following the arrest of terrorist Qassim Mosleh.

The terrorist was arrested under Article 3 of the Iraqi Anti-Terror Law.

Based on the evidence cited by the Iraqi government, the senior commander of the Shabi Shabi terrorist group has been charged with ordering the assassination of Ihab Telozani and Fahim Tai, two civil activists from Karbala.
