 Israel has the right to defend itself comprehensively

Coinciding with the German Foreign Minister's visit to the region, Angela Merkel stressed Israel's right to defend itself against Hamas rocket attacks.

According to Reuters, the German Chancellor stressed on Thursday, May 20, that it is right that Israel has the right to defend itself fully, and that Germany supports this right.

He says Germany is working in close coordination with the United States, Britain and France and within the European Union to find a long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Two days ago, the foreign ministers of the EU member states held a videoconference meeting, and one of the central issues of these consultations was the continuation of the military conflict between the extremist Palestinian Islamists and Israel.

At the meeting, 26 of the 27 members of the European Union agreed with a statement by EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell on a new round of the Middle East conflict, but Hungary's opposition prevented its final approval.
