Hamas leader: Iran gives us money and missiles

Yahya Sanwar, the head of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, threatened on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, that he would set everything on fire if the Gaza issue was not resolved.

Senwar said Hamas did not need any financial assistance because Iran was providing money and weapons to the movement. He claimed that Israel had failed to eliminate the leaders of Hamas' first circle. He acknowledged, however, that Israel had targeted Hamas infrastructure and killed 80 members of the Qassam Brigades and Saraya al-Quds.

Unlike Sanwar, Khalid Mashaal, a senior Hamas leader and leader of the movement outside Palestine, had previously said he would prefer international aid to rebuild Gaza directly to Hamas.

In recent days, Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, had called on Arab countries and philanthropists to take part in the reconstruction of Gaza. He thanked Iran for its missile assistance to Hamas.
