Raheleh Ahmadi refuses to attend the interrogation session of the Evin Court

Raheleh Ahmadi, a civil activist who opposes the compulsory hijab and is serving her sentence in Evin Prison, was summoned orally to Branch 1 of the Evin Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday, January 22nd, regarding a new case opened against her in prison.

According to a note posted on her Instagram account attributed to Saba Kordafshari, Raheleh Ahmadi's daughter, she refused to attend the court hearing due to lack of access to a lawyer.

This imprisoned civil activist was also sent to Branch 1 of the Evin Prosecutor's Office on November 20, without prior summons and the presence of a lawyer, and was charged with "propaganda activities against the regime."

In 2019, according to the indictment issued by Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, headed by Iman Afshari, he was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison on charges of "gathering and colluding against national security through cooperation with dissident media" and to 8 years on charges of "propaganda against the regime." He was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison in total.
