Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett an official visit to Bahrain
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett arrived in Manama on Monday at the invitation of Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad.
This is the first visit of the Israeli Prime Minister to Bahrain, which takes place almost a year and a half after the signing of the Ibrahim Peace Agreement between the two countries.
Israeli Prime Minister's spokesman Ofer Jundelman said on Twitter that Naftali Bennett would discuss with Salman bin Hamad "the importance of peace, development and prosperity in the region."
Naftali bint is scheduled to meet with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the country's foreign, finance, industry and communications ministers tomorrow, Tuesday.
The Israeli prime minister's official visit to Bahrain comes two weeks after the signing of a defense agreement between the two countries focusing on growing tensions in the region.
Earlier, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid visited Bahrain in September last year and Israeli Defense Minister Bani Gantets in early February.
The visit of the Israeli Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to Bahrain is interpreted by many as another defeat for the Islamic Republic.
