 The Iranian regime has  deployed thousands of Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces, known as Hashd al-Shaabi, from Iraq to Khuzestan Province in Iran. 

 

This province hosts the Ahvaz oil fields, among the largest in the world, located near the Iraqi border and close to the Persian Gulf. The deployment is believed to be in preparation for a large-scale conflict with the United States, in case of a ground operation.

Released videos show dozens of Hilux vehicles with Iraqi and Popular Mobilization Forces flags leaving Basra for Iran on the morning of April 29. According to media outlets close to the armed group, the convoy traveled from southern #Iraq to Iran.
It was also reported that Hilux vehicles with Iraqi and Popular Mobilization Forces flags were seen in #Khoramshahr on March 29.
