A mysterious Persian-language radio station that became active at the same time as the recent escalation of conflict between the United States and the Israeli military with the Islamic Republic has drawn widespread attention from shortwave listeners around the world.

This station, known by the code name “V32,” broadcasts messages in the form of numerical codesa method regarded as one of the traditional communication techniques used in intelligence operations, particularly in situations involving internet shutdowns and disruptions to digital communications.

According to a report by the “Priyom” group, which tracks numbers stations, the transmission of these signals began on February 28, 2026—just hours after the initial reports of U.S. and Israeli military strikes on targets inside Iran, as well as the Islamic Republic’s announcement of widespread internet outages.

In these messages, a man’s voice speaking in Persian begins by repeating the phrase “Attention! Attention! Attention!” and then proceeds to read out groups of five-digit numbers.

Some analyses attribute the origin of this signal to a U.S. military base in Germany, although no official confirmation has been released so far.
