🚨 Evin Prisoners in Concern Behind Closed Doors
The situation of political prisoners is worrying and we call on international organizations to put pressure on the Islamic Republic to ensure the health of prisoners
According to news received by the Committee for the Release of Political Prisoners in Iran, the situation of prisoners in Evin Prison is very worrying for prisoners.
Due to the sound of explosions and the security situation, the doors of the wards have been closed and the prisoners are practically locked inside the prison without the possibility of defending themselves.
According to this report, the doors are closed in ward seven of Evin Prison and the prisoners are being held in conditions full of anxiety. The food situation is also described as inadequate and there is serious concern about the sudden transfer of prisoners.
📌 Committee for the Release of Political Prisoners in Iran
According to international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, the lives and rights of prisoners must be protected under all circumstances. Any illegal transfer, torture, starvation or exposing prisoners to the risk of war is a serious violation of international law.

Since the start of the war, the Islamic Republic has turned some civilian locations into bases for military and security forces, disregarding the safety of ordinary citizens. One of these places is the Urmia Prison.
Reports indicate that the prison grounds and surrounding areas have become gathering points for government forces, who are stationed inside the prison compound at night. Under these conditions, political and ideological prisoners are effectively being held as hostages and used as human shields to protect military forces—placing their lives in serious danger
New worrisome signs in Iran’s internet and telecommunications network
More than two weeks after the widespread international internet outage in Iran, reports from inside the country and technical data indicate that the network has entered an unstable phase. Since March 13, in addition to the continued restrictions on global internet access, some special accesses known as “white SIM cards” have also been restricted, and disruptions have been reported in a number of domestic services and systems.
There are also signs of an abnormal situation at the infrastructure level. Reports from the technical community indicate widespread backup requests at some operators and data centers, and internet traffic data also shows that traffic has decreased significantly at some major operators since March 14, a pattern that has been observed during previous widespread internet outages in Iran.
According to published news, security forces have been able to identify the location of some Starlink satellite internet modems in recent days by using technical equipment to track signals. It is said that dozens of people have been arrested in various cities on charges of using this equipment as a result of these operations.
These developments are occurring at a time when disruptions in banking systems and limited access to cash have also been reported, and many citizens have turned to the informal market of filter breakers to communicate with abroad. These signs have increased concerns about the possibility of a repeat of the widespread internet shutdown in Iran.
According to a detailed report by the Human Rights Activists in Iran, between the first of Farvardin and the end of Esfand 1404, at least 78,907 citizens have been arrested for ideological or political reasons or in violation of human rights principles, of which 78,126 cases were related to freedom of thought and expression. In this regard, 11,744 summonses, 126 trials, 250 beatings, and a total of 13,812 months in prison were recorded for 332 people.
According to this report, the nationwide protests of January and February 1404, as one of the most widespread waves of protests in recent years, were accompanied by severe repression. During these protests, at least 6,724 protesters, including 236 children, died, 25,877 people were injured, and 53,777 people were arrested. These protests took place in 203 cities from 31 provinces and in the form of 682 gatherings.
In the field of women's rights, 138 reports were recorded, including 105 cases of murder of women, 7 cases of honor killings, 68 cases of sexual harassment and rape, 180 cases of domestic violence, and 5 cases of acid attacks. There were also cases of summonses and prison sentences for women and at least 3 cases of arrests for not observing the mandatory hijab and singing in public places.
In the workers’ rights sector, 1,709 reports were registered, including 1,270 deaths in work accidents, 8,264 injuries, 2,457 dismissals, 658 unemployment cases, and 672 months of wage arrears in 188 units. 724 workers’ rallies and 390 workers’ strikes were also registered during this period.
In the case of ethnic minorities, 207 citizens were arrested, 136 of which were without a court order. In the religious minorities sector, 169 people were arrested, and 95 people were sentenced to a total of 6,927 months of imprisonment and 798 months of suspended imprisonment.
In 1404, executions continued to be one of the main indicators of human rights violations in Iran; at least 2,488 people, including 63 women and 2 child offenders, were executed, and 13 of these sentences were carried out in public.
The report also points to the alarming situation of children, including at least 23,538 cases of child abuse, 343 children detained, more than one million children out of school, and at least 10,000 child laborers.
The report by the Human Rights Activists in Iran Group emphasizes that the statistics provided are minimal and that due to severe restrictions on access to information and the activities of independent institutions, the true extent of human rights violations in Iran is likely to exceed the recorded figures.
