Two CCTV cameras captured the moment that American investigative journalist Shelly Kittleson was kidnapped by gunmen in central Baghdad today. No group has officially claimed responsibility.

However, multiple reports from Baghdad indicate that a gang group linked to Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces, specifically associated with Kataib Hezbollah, have carried out the kidnapping.

Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah in Baghdad has kidnapped American journalist Shelly Kittleson. The operation was carried out in full  coordination with the Popular Mobilization Forces (known as Hashd al-Shaabi) in Iraq. A team from Iran’s IRGC is now planning to transfer her to Iran.
