More than 9,100 employees at the Turkish police have been suspended from their services. The message from the police office in Ankara comes on the day that more than 1,000 people have been arrested, suspected of having connections with the minister Fettullah Gülen.

Turkish authorities announced Wednesday that 3,224 people will be arrested, reports television channels NTV and CNN Turk.
Mass arrest is one of the biggest actions for several months against the Gülen network, which Ankara accuses of the coup attempt in July last year. Turkey's Interior Minister has previously said that the last action focuses on network connections within the police.
