Shahrokh Zamani’s Family Statement on Recent Executions

Shahrokh Zamani’s Family Statement on Recent Executions
The family of Shahrokh Zamani, a labor activist who died suspiciously in prison, issued a statement addressed to fellow citizens and libertarian groups about the recent executions.
Read the text of Shahrokh Zamani’s family statement cited by Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners in Iran:
Dear fellow citizens and Freedom Forces
At 4 PM on September 13th, 20145, an unfamiliar telephone call gave us the news of Shahrokh’s death, while we just talked to him the previous hour. Everything was clear, he was killed while he had three and a half years imprisonment left, so that the voice of liberation could be silenced.
But this cowardly crime did not end the activities of political and social forces, nor the atrocities of the security and judicial forces, and three years after Shahrokh’s assassination, the political and economic crisis, the crackdown on freedom-loving people, the murder and execution of political and social activists continues.
Over the past three years, tens of environmental advocates, political and social activists, women’s rights activists, human rights defenders, a number of members of the Bar Association and civil society organizations, some trade union activists, teachers, workers, students, a large number of protesters and other protesters in different cities of the country and a large number of darvishes and activists of national and ethnic groups under false titles, such as activities against national security, social order and spy activity were arrested, detained, deported, executed or deprived of their human rights.
On the morning of September 8th, 2018, Ramin Hosseinpanahi, Zanyar and Loghman Moradi were executed.
The country prisons are full of political and social activists,
Censorship and repression continue,
Job insecurity, inflation, and costliness have been a hard/heavy hit on people’s lives,
Unemployment, poverty, divorce, addiction, prostitution and suicide is skyrocketing
Misuse, bribery, smuggling, and financial corruption have become the norm for the government’s people.
Apparently, in the current situation, there is no way to escape political, social and economic crises. The solution depends on the coherent efforts of all progressive and libertarian forces.
We the family of Shahrokh Zamani, with the name of Shahrokh and all the fighters for the advancement and liberation of our country, while condemning any kind of pressure and violence against progressive and liberal forces call to all progressive and libertarian forces, to unite to save the country and the people, and plan a new way.
Long live liberty
