Unprecedented massacre in Iran, where more than 100,000 people were massacred in Iran

Reports from Iran’s Kurdish region describe horrific treatment of people arrested for peacefully protesting for freedom and democracy. Survivors and witnesses say detainees have been placed in tightly sealed black bags, bound with tape and with their hands tied behind their backs — a method that leaves people unable to breathe normally and in extreme pain, and can cause death by suffocation. Some of those subjected to this treatment were seen struggling helplessly, unable to support their own weight. These actions are widely condemned as a form of torture and slow execution.

While these reports continue to circulate widely on social media and through local outlets, independent verification is urgently needed. According to published local sources, at least 257 Kurdish protestors were killed over just two days in brutal crackdowns in the region. These deaths underscore the deadly lengths to which the authorities are going to suppress peaceful calls for basic human rights.

This is not a conflict between armed groups — these are unarmed civilians, demanding dignity and democratic rights, met with brutality instead of dialogue.
